Upon entering the Ft. Worth Zoo, most people first notice the World of Primates exhibit. Here, you'll discover a lush world with waterfalls, green foliage, and of course....primates. Colobus monkeys leap around, gibbons swing from limb-to-limb, orangutans show off their beautiful orange mane, and gorillas bathe in the sun. If you're lucky, you might actually see one beat its chest!
Mimicking the vastness of African savannah land, the Ft. Worth Zoo's African Savannah exhibit allows visitors to scan the horizon for lions, black rhinos, giraffes, ostriches, and a few safari birds, as well. Make your way around to see the hippos go for a dip in the pool.
The Ft. Worth Zoo brings the exotic animals of the Australian Outback and the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef, right here to Texas. Seeing red kangaroos bouncing around is definitely a sight the whole family will enjoy. The Great Barrier Reef exhibit features vibrant fish, eels, corals, small invertebrates, and blacktip reef sharks.
Meerkat Mounds is a zoo favorite and you'll know why, when you see these more-than-playful creatures scurry around and socialize. Kids and adults alike, all love to watch the meerkats do their thing. Visitors can get great views from all angles, including through a bubble window carved into one of the outer walls, which provides an up-close experience, and a boardwalk perch allows for a more aerial view.
